Arecont Vision® MegaVideo® Flex Compact Camera Series for Constrained or Discreet Locations Unveiled at ISC West
Los Angeles, CA (April 6, 2016) – Arecont Vision®, the industry leader in IP-based megapixel camera technology, announces the new MegaVideo® Flex multi-megapixel ultra-small, ultra-flexible camera series. MegaVideo Flex will be displayed with several examples of the wide range of possible applications that this unique camera offers at ISC West in the Arecont Vision booth, #8045, Sands Convention Center, Las Vegas, April 6-8, 2016.
The MegaVideo Flex camera series offers a cost-effective security solution for installations that require a more flexible and compact design than other professional security cameras deliver. Due to its small footprint, the MegaVideo Flex easily fits into a wide range of areas and settings, such as ATMs (automatic teller machines) and other tight or discreet spaces while delivering megapixel (MP) high definition video. The stylish indoor/outdoor camera series features a choice of 1.2MP, 1080p, 3MP, and 5MP resolution models.
MegaVideo Flex is a true day/night camera that is ideal for applications with variable lighting conditions regardless of the time of day. NightView™ technology in the 1.2MP model ensures coverage in areas where little light is present. Two optional IR (infrared) illuminators may be added to further increase video clarity. Applications with bright or over-saturated lighting conditions can be addressed with models that include Wide Dynamic Range (WDR).
The MegaVideo Flex is composed of the camera sensor, metal mounting bracket, USB cable, and the main camera unit.
Installation is quite simple. The camera sensor can be surface mounted via the supplied mounting bracket or flush mounted into a ceiling or wall with the two (2) included fastening nuts. No additional mounting accessories are required.
For added flexibility, the USB cable allows the camera sensor to be mounted in one area while the main unit is up to 40 feet (12m) away. The camera includes both white and black trim rings so that the small sensor further blends into many environments.
The main unit features two (2) USB ports to allow the addition of one or two IR illuminators. Each illuminator includes six (6) infrared 850nm LEDs to provide up to 49 feet (15m) of night vision capability.
MegaVideo Flex cameras are enhanced with the convenience of remote focus. This facilitates both the ease of initial setup and future adjustments, reducing the time required to be spent at the job site. The ability to change lenses brings additional flexibility in application uses. Options include 2.1, 2.8, 4, 6, 8, 12, and 16mm lenses.

MegaVideo Flex cameras offer advanced streaming capabilities. They are designed on the Arecont Vision highly efficient H.264 encoding platform to deliver high-quality video without straining the network. Power can be supplied via a single Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) compliant network cable, or powered from a 12-48V DC/24V AC power supply. The camera interface allows for an intuitive, fast, and easy configuration. The AV IP Utility tool allows users to quickly configure or update one or multiple cameras simultaneously.
